Facilitated a
change process for a growing retailer that involved
several levels of management and resulted in a
culture of ownership where change is accepted as a
way of life.
Client:
A Large, Growing Retailer
Situation:
This rapidly growing retailer was undergoing
dramatic changes to their operation in order to keep
up with the expanding business. The corporate
leadership wanted to take active steps to ensure
that the unit-level leadership was involved in the
changes and participated in forming the strategy for
the department.
Solution:
The Cultivation Corps was hired by a department
leader to facilitate their department’s strategy for
going forward. We designed and implemented an
extensive strategic change process that included the
unit-level leadership in addition to the corporate
leadership. We conducted feedback sessions with
sixty of the unit-level leaders and provided
feedback to the corporate team. Using this feedback
and their own work around their vision, the
corporate team developed a strategy that addressed
the senior leadership’s needs while acknowledging
the unit-level leadership’s input. Then they closed
the loop by communicating their strategy throughout
the company.
Results:
A new culture took hold in which people felt valued
and involved, and in which there was a greater
acceptance of the changing operations.
