Reengineering
Completely
reengineered a wholesale food manufacturer,
transforming it from an unprofitable operation to a
raging success that has lasted more than five years.
Client:
A Formerly Successful Wholesale Food Manufacturer
Situation:
Company came to market with a superior product and
sales expanded rapidly. The company opened a second
location to service the entire Bay Area. This growth
led to problems—operating two small plants located
hours apart frustrated management, legacy systems
were inefficient and some delivery areas were
unprofitable. The bottom line: Profits dried up.
Solution:
The Cultivation Corps was brought in by the owners
to create a strategy for reengineering the business.
We recommended a complete restructuring of the
business to create economies of scale and ease of
operation. A larger, centrally located plant was
constructed to consolidate operations. New
technology was implemented to automate the ordering,
production and delivery process. Delivery areas and
routes were restructured and unprofitable contracts
were eliminated or renegotiated.
Results:
Within a year, the company achieved its first
financial distribution in five years. It continues
to run efficiently and to deliver results
significantly above industry standards.
